Who Was Marguerite Poindexter LaMotte?

Ms. Marguerite LaMotte

Ms. Marguerite LaMotte was a former teacher and principal. Ms. LaMotte was first elected to the school board in 2003. She was well-known as a passionate advocate for students in her south central district. She often called the students in her district “my babies.” Ms. LaMotte is survived by two children and four grandchildren and we’d like to think that she is also survived by all of us as the students and staff of a school that is her namesake.
